Ampicillin Trihydrate in the form of powder is available here at Shreeji Pharma International. An aminopenicillin-derived broad-spectrum semisynthetic compound, ampicillin trihydrate is a trihydrate form of ampicillin. It blocks synthesis of bacterial cell wall by binding to penicillin binding proteins, and inhibits peptidoglycan synthesis, an essential cell wall component. It is slightly soluble in water.

Applications Or where it is used:

Among the diseases treated with ampicillin are infections caused by bacteria, such as meningitis and infections of the throat, reproductive organs, urinary tract, sinuses, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract. This penicillin-type antibiotic stops bacterial growth. It does not treat other infections including viral infections such as common cold and flu. Any antibiotic taken when it is not necessary can make it less effective in the future.

How to use:

Ampicillin is a penicillin antibiotic used for the treatment or prevention of many different types of infections, including bladder infections, gonorrhea, meningitis, pneumonia, or infections of the stomach and intestines. This medication guide does not include all possible uses of ampicillin.

Dosage of usage:

The dosage of this medication depends on your doctor, but is usually 4 times per day (every 6 hours). It is best to take ampicillin with a full glass of water on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after eating). While using this medication, drink plenty of fluids unless your doctor advises you otherwise. Your doctor will also determine the dosage on the basis of your individual condition.
